COVID19 Message | Teresa Ellen, Health Director

Professional family,

It has been 8 months in our journey with COVID-19.  I hope you, your family and your professional families are safe and well.  Many times with pandemics and viruses it is easy to become complacent and forget to practice safety measures and follow protocols.  We all get busy serving our customers and focusing on getting a task done.  As we move forward, I want to remind you that first, if you are not feeling well, we advise you to stay home and away from others.  That is the first step to stop the spread of any virus.  Then we must follow the 3 W’s every single day – Wear Your Mask, Wait Six Feet from others, and Wash your hands frequently.  We know these 3 measures make a big difference in halting virus spread as well.   In addition, remember that large gatherings, particularly family gatherings, tend to foster the spread of COVID-19.  Use caution as this can spread the virus to other locations, including where you work.

The good news is that a vaccine is in the near future, but following the 3 W’s protects all of us now.   Let’s push forward with the 3W’s and don’t forget to encourage each other.  We are all in this together.

Be well,

Teresa Ellen RN,MPH, Wlson County Health Director
