Opportunity to Give
The Wilson County Senior Activity Center needs your help to provide seniors in need with gifts this Christmas. Stop by the center at 1808 Goldsboro St. by Dec. 16 to choose an ornament with a need. Return the unwrapped gift along with the selected ornament to the senior center.

Due to renovations at the Main Library, December programs will be focused at Wilson County Public Library’s five branch locations. Branch locations, hours and programs are listed below. Some interruptions in service will occur at the Main Library as a result of renovations. The Main Library will plan to close to the public December 11-14, 2019. All library locations will close Thursday, December 12, 2019 for staff training.
Notifications regarding full or partial closures of the Main Library will be shared via www.wilsoncountypubliclibrary.com, Facebook, Instagram, and print signage. customers are encouraged to explore the library branches during this time for programs, internet access, reading material and research assistance. Join us for a Downtown Candyland Christmas on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm at the Main Library. Activities will take place at various downtown attractions and businesses all day long. Drop by the Library from 3-4 pm to make a sweet Christmas treat to take home.
Join us for our monthly Local Author Night on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 6:00 pm in the Main Library Assembly Room. Our guests this month will be Lorraine Jones-Whitfield, author of Kid’s Faith It Tool, Roosevelt Etheridge, author of The Making of a Prayer Warrior, and K.P. Johnson, author of The Stars Are Shining. Copies of these works will be available for purchase and signing at the event.

The Black Creek Branch is located at 103 Central Avenue in Black Creek. Their December hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday thru Friday and closed Saturday and Sunday. The Lucama Public Library & Lucama Girl Scout Troop will collect NEW winter scarves, hats, gloves, mittens and socks for all ages from November 25 thru December 20 to decorate our tree.
