Wilson County Government Center staff at Miller Road kicked off the summer season with the 2nd annual hot-dog cookout with Chef Tim Bilderback. Based on the pictures and the food, it was a lot of fun. No one is saying exactly how many hot-dogs were consumed.

The Wilson County Solid Waste Administrative Office and the C&D Landfill will be closed Monday, May 27, 2019 for Memorial Day Holiday. The district convenience centers will operate according to their holiday schedule. The following centers will be opened:
Site 2 — Highway 117
Site 5 — Lloyd Road, Lucama
Site 7 — Highway 42 West
Site 10 — Grover Lane, Sims
Site 12 — Landfill Road

Site 5 — Lucama, 6617 Lloyd Road and Site 11 — Kenly, 6630 NC Highway 581 will be closed on Wednesday, May, 2019 in order to complete site upgrades. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but these upgrades are necessary. We will reopen Thursday, May 9, 2019. During this time, you may use the following locations:
