Connect GIS Class

The past decade has been seen Geographic Informational Systems (GIS) rapidly grow from a niche technology to a keystone of analysis in both the private and public sectors.  Today maps can tell us much more than just how to get from Point A to Point B.  Wilson County's GIS Portal, Connect GIS, receives over 6,500 web hits per month from users both within Wilson County Government and extending to the general public.  From addresses to detailed aerial imagery, there is more important data available now than ever before.  This class will examine the basics of how to use Connect GIS and the information that it contains.  You will learn how to search for information as well as how to turn different data layers on and off.  No prior Connect GIS experience is necessary.

This class will be held at the Emergency Services Facility, 1817 Glendale Drive.  To sign up for the class, contact Melissa Parrish at amparrish@wilson-co.com
